Memorial Day was established in 1868 after the American Civil Was and was originally called Decoration Day. It was established as a time for the nation to decorate the graves from the civil with flowers.
However, the northern and southern states had separate holiday traditions honoring the fallen up until World War I. The United States Government eventually merged these holidays into one to become Memorial Day.
To date, approximately 1.3 million Americans have lost their lives in battle. These Airmen, Soldiers, Seamen, Coast Guard and Marines gave their lives for the freedom of our country and its citizens.
Today is a day to remember the men and women that have given their all in defense of this nation, even though it is not enough, we at ADM Legal Defense thank them for their sacrifice.
